When VinFast revealed the VF 3, we thought they had made the smallest four-seater EV. Measuring 3190mm long, 1679mm wide, and 1652mm tall on a 2075mm wheelbase, the VF 3 is tiny indeed. Combined with a price tag of PHP 590,000 when purchased with the brand's battery subscription, the VF 3 is one heck of a bargain indeed.

But lo and behold, VinFast one-upped themselves by revealing an even smaller EV than the VF 3. This is the VinFast VF 2, and it's the most compact EV yet from the Vietnamese automaker.

Starting with its dimensions, the VF 2 measures 3090mm long, 1496mm wide, and 1633mm tall on a 2065mm wheelbase. Side-by-side with the VF 3, the VF 2 is 100mm shorter in length, 183mm narrower, and is 33mm shorter in terms of height. Even the VF 2's wheelbase is shorter by 10mm compared to the VF 3.

Despite the slight difference in size, the VF 2 is geared as a city car, thanks to its ultra-compact dimensions. Combined with its kei car-inspired design and tiny wheels, the VF 2 is meant to be an affordable EV. However, it still comes with some niceties like LED headlights and a host of bright exterior colors.

Hop inside, and the VF 2 welcomes occupants into a simple, bare-bones cabin. However, it does come with some modern conveniences like a 7-inch digital multi-info display for the driver, manual air-conditioning, and two integrated speakers with FM radio. It also has a four-way manually adjustable driver's seat and cupholders for the front & rear passengers.

Driving the VF 2 is a rear electric motor that puts out 30 kW or 41 PS with 65 Nm of torque. It has Eco & Normal drive modes and has a top speed of 80 km/h. The motor then gets its power from an 18.3 kWh battery pack, which VinFast claims gives the VF 2 a range of up to 210 km under the NEDC cycle. In comparison, the VF 3 can cover up to 215 km on the NEDC cycle with its 18.64 kWh battery.

The VF 2 supports both AC and DC fast charging, with the latter capable of recharging the battery from 10% to 70% in just 34 minutes when hooked up to a 24 kW DC charger.

Despite being a budget EV, VinFast did not skimp on safety features. The VF 2 comes with anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution and a traction control system.

The first customer deliveries of the VinFast VF 2 will begin in Vietnam around September 2026 and will have a price tag of VND 188 million or just PHP 440,000.

Should VinFast bring it here and sell it alongside the VF 3?
