We were all surprised earlier this year when the Department of Energy (DOE) recognized the Suzuki e Vitara EV. It's essentially the twin of the Toyota Urban Cruiser, which is the rebadged version of the Suzuki EV and is now on sale from Toyota Motor Philippines.

With the e Vitara now on the DOE's list of recognized EVs, perhaps it might only be a matter of time before Suzuki Philippines decides to officially launch it. Well, it looks like we're inching closer to its eventual debut in the country after the Land Transportation Office (LTO) released new homologation documents for the Suzuki e Vitara.

Based on a new memorandum circular, we were able to learn more about the Suzuki e Vitara for the Philippine market. While we already know it will likely have a single electric motor that pushes out 174 PS with 193 Nm of torque, we didn't know how long it would take to recharge the battery.

According to the LTO's new memo, the 61 kWh battery of the e Vitara can be recharged from 10% to 100% in 9 hours via a 7kW AC charging system. Not bad, but when hooked up to a 70 kW DC fast charger, the e Vitara's battery can be replenished from 10% to 80% in only 45 minutes.

Just like what the DOE mentioned earlier this year, the PH-spec Suzuki e Vitara will measure 4275mm long, 1800mm wide, and 1635mm tall. It will also have a 2700mm wheelbase and 160mm of ground clearance. Last but not least, it will have 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/55 series tires.

With the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV already available in the Philippines and retailing for PHP 2.135 million, we're curious as to how much Suzuki will retail the Suzuki e Vitara. We're also curious if Suzuki will offer it with a long list of intelligent driver aids via its advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

For now, all we can do is wait and perhaps get to see it make its debut in the country soon. After all, the Suzuki e Vitara just made its regional debut in Thailand at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show, which likely means the Philippines is next.
