SPIED: BMW iX4 spotted at Nurburgring with less camo

SPIED: BMW iX4 spotted at Nurburgring with less camo
BMW iX3's sleeker sibling, the iX4, could be launching soon
Ever since BMW launched the all-new iX3 and even made its regional debut in Thailand earlier this year at the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS), it has stirred both BMW fans and enthusiasts. With its retro-inspired design serving as the start of BMW's new era, the iX3 kicked off the brand's next generation of vehicles, which already include the likes of the i3 and the all-new X5 (and iX5).
Beyond the iX3, however, BMW is also busy testing the all-new iX4, which will serve as the coupe-inspired sibling of the electric crossover. In fact, our spies were able to take several pictures of the iX4 on several occasions, with the latest being in March 2026.

Fast forward to July 2026, and our spies snapped new photos of the upcoming iX4. This time, our spies spotted it being driven at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, and based on the photos, it looks like the iX4 may already be the production version, albeit wearing a light camouflage livery.
Like iX3, the front fascia of the BMW iX4 features the now-familiar vertical grille and the eye-catching LED headlights & light signatures. Once you go towards the side and the rear, however, the coupe-inspired design becomes apparent with its sloping roofline and tailgate. If anything, the iX4 somehow looks like a raised sedan with a liftback rear.

Other specifications about the upcoming iX4 are not yet available. However, the iX4 will likely get the same powertrain as the iX3 50 xDrive. It gets a pair of electric motors, an 800V architecture, and a massive 108.7 kWh battery, which gives it a range of up to 805 km, based on the WLTP cycle. From a standstill, BMW says the iX3 can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 km/h.

With the BMW iX4 already looking like it's ready for its debut, perhaps we can expect BMW to hold the official launch later this year.
