We've already seen a glimpse of the all-new BMW M3 and the upcoming electric M3, which may be dubbed the i3 M via the M Concept Neue Klasse. Not only does it preview the future of high-performance M vehicles from BMW, but it's our best look yet at the high-performance i3 M.

Fast forward to the present day; our spies were able to take photos of the upcoming BMW i3 M, and the automaker has decided to remove more camouflage in the latest round of tests.

At first glance, the BMW i3 M looks almost the same as the recently revealed i3. From the signature headlights to the “Neue Klasse” grille, as well as the sharp LED taillights, it almost gets the same exterior design as the regular i3. However, the recently spotted prototype gets a vented hood, bigger alloy wheels that hide equally huge disc brakes, and wider fenders.

Thanks to the thinner camouflage, it looks like the BMW i3 M will largely resemble the regular i3, with some subtle changes here and there to highlight its BMW M pedigree.

As mentioned before, the BMW i3 M is expected to be launched with four electric motors, one on each wheel. It's rumored that it will initially be launched with over 800 PS and up to 900 Nm of torque. However, more powerful versions are expected to generate more than 1,300 PS. It will also have an 800V architecture to support ultra-fast charging up to 400 kW. Last but not least, it will likely have a 108 kWh battery pack.

With the BMW i3 M sporting a lighter camo in its latest tests, it might not be long before BMW officially takes the covers off.
