2,000 HP Chinese Threat: Denza Z9 GT "Xtreme" takes aim at Nürburgring records
Uncamouflaged Denza Z9 GT prototype hits the Nordschleife with wild race aero and rumored 2,000 HP powertrain
The old guard of German premium automakers officially has a new reason to look over their shoulders. Denza—BYD’s high-end performance arm—has unleashed a stark, track-focused evolution of its Z9 GT shooting brake on the roads in and around the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
In a move that signals supreme confidence, Denza skipped the traditional camouflage wrap entirely for its prototype runs. The unmasked test vehicle reveals a radical aerodynamic overhaul designed for high-speed track duty.

Extreme Track Aerodynamics
Up front, the Z9 GT "Xtreme" prototype trades subtle grand touring lines for an aggressive front fascia dominated by massive air intakes, prominent bumper canards, race-derived side skirts, and an extended front splitter.
Out back, the modifications get even wilder. The shooting brake's rear end is dominated by a giant swan-neck rear wing featuring massive endplates, paired with an enlarged lower diffuser and functional wheel-arch ducting engineered to generate immense downforce.

2,000-Horsepower Target
While the standard Z9 GT already makes a statement with a tri-motor electric powertrain delivering over 1,100 horsepower, reports suggest this extreme variant turns up the heat significantly. Rumor has it that the output reaches a staggering 2,000 horsepower, pushing the capabilities of BYD's e³ tri-motor architecture to new limits.

The intent behind this unhinged build is unmistakable: Denza is targeting an all-out electric lap record at the Green Hell. By setting its sights on the benchmarking performances laid down by Porsche and its motorsport partners at Manthey, the Chinese automaker is mounting a direct challenge to Europe's track elites.

Given the extent of its bespoke aerodynamic package and targeted performance envelope, this extreme Z9 GT variant will likely carry a steep price tag as an exclusive, limited-production track weapon when officially unveiled.
