It was back in September 2025 when our spies managed to spot what could be BMW’s newest flagship SUV. More importantly, the prototype our spies saw looked to be the upcoming iX7. That’s right, just like the iX3 and the recently launched iX5, there will also be an all-electric iX7 full-size luxury SUV.

Fast forward 10 months, our spies caught another sighting of the upcoming iX7, and this time it’s closer to the production look. Based on what our spies captured, the iX7 now comes with production lights that appear to be inspired by the recently refreshed 7 Series. Combined with the massive vertical grilles and the two-tier headlight design, the all-new iX7 will likely have the Neue Klasse look like the rest of the lineup.

Also worth mentioning are the new LED taillights. While they are still covered by a camouflage livery, it’s quite clear that they will have new LED light signatures. We won’t be surprised if they have a somewhat similar design to the all-new iX5’s wraparound design that was revealed just days ago. Size-wise, the iX7 may become BMW’s biggest and heaviest vehicle yet.

Like the iX5, the upcoming BMW iX7 will likely be powered by the brand’s sixth-generation eDrive Technology. It’s expected to have an 800V architecture to give it ultra-fast charging when hooked up to DC charging stations. Heck, it’s rumored that the iX7 can support up to 400 kW of charge. Meanwhile, its battery capacity could range between 110 and 130 kWh, which is slightly smaller than the iX5’s 144 kWh battery. However, the iX7 is still expected to have a range of over 640 km when fully charged.

When it comes to its electric propulsion, the iX7 will likely only be available with powerful dual electric motors that could produce more than 550 PS. In comparison, the iX5 that was recently revealed makes a combined 578 PS and 804 Nm of torque.

The all-new BMW X7 and iX7 are expected to make their official debut sometime in 2027, which means we may have to wait for a long while before the automaker unveils them.
