Report: All-new Mitsubishi Pajero to come in GSR, Exceed variants?
Next-gen Pajero to be available in GLX, GLS, Exceed, and GSR variants in Australia
Ever since Mitsubishi confirmed that the Pajero is coming back as a body-on-frame SUV, fans and enthusiasts have been buzzing. Add the fact that Mitsubishi confirmed that the next-generation Pajero will grow into a family of models, and it looks like there will be a Pajero available to every discerning type of customer. On top of that, the signature multi-meter will also be making a comeback, albeit made digital.
With interest in the all-new Pajero still at an all-time high before its launch later this year, there have been new reports about its available models. In fact, Australian publication CarSales recently got hold of the variant range for the Land Down Under.
Based on homologation documents, there will be a total of four variants available: GLX, GLS, Exceed, and GSR. There will also be different seat variants, particularly a five-seater and a seven-seater. That means customers will have a choice between a three-row or a more traditional two-row seating configuration for the Pajero.

While the GLX and GLS variants are already familiar to us via nameplates like the XForce, Mirage G4, and the Destinator, the return of the Exceed and GSR nameplates will be quite the treat for longtime fans. While the Exceed variant name has been available since the first-generation, it became a household name in the Philippines when the second-generation Pajero (and subsequent generations) arrived in the country. In fact, mention the word Exceed to any Pajero enthusiast, and they will immediately know what you’re talking about.
As for the GSR model, this particular version could be a more spruced-up version of the Exceed with additional extras both inside and out. If anything, the GSR might serve as the sporty version of the all-new Pajero. We’re also hoping that a Ralliart version becomes available in the near future.
With Australia set to get the GLX, GLS, Exceed, and GSR variants, we wonder what Mitsubishi Motor PH will have in store for the Philippine market once the all-new Pajero makes its way here after its global launch later this year.
