Ralliart shows off Pajero Rally Concept at Mitsubishi Pajero global debut

Ralliart shows off Pajero Rally Concept at Mitsubishi Pajero global debut
The rally-inspired SUV builds on Mitsubishi Ralliart’s AXCR success with a more aggressive off-road look.
Mitsubishi Motors appears to be reconnecting the all-new Pajero with the brand’s motorsport heritage by displaying a special Pajero Rally Concept at the SUV’s launch in Tokyo.

The concept takes inspiration from Mitsubishi Ralliart’s recent success in the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR), where Team Mitsubishi Ralliart secured its second consecutive overall victory in 2026 using the Triton pickup truck.
Lessons and experience gained from Mitsubishi’s rallying program have now been translated into a more adventure-focused interpretation of the all-new Pajero. While the concept remains a showpiece, its design gives an indication of how Mitsubishi’s motorsport influence could be applied to its latest SUV.

The Pajero Rally Concept gets a noticeably wider and more aggressive stance, highlighted by front and rear over-fenders that accommodate a larger wheel and tire package.

It rides on prototype 18x8.5-inch Work Crag T-Grabic MC wheels wrapped in Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tires sized 285/60R18. The combination gives the SUV additional ground presence while reinforcing its off-road character.

At the front, the concept features a sportier grille, along with a prominent snorkel and a red-finished skid plate. Matching red-and-black front and rear under-garnishes further emphasize its rally-inspired appearance.
The same red-and-black treatment continues across other exterior details, giving the Pajero Rally Concept a more purposeful look without losing the design identity of the production SUV.

Another notable detail is the C-pillar garnish, which highlights one of the all-new Pajero’s distinctive exterior design elements while adding a distinct touch to the concept.
While Mitsubishi has not indicated whether the complete Rally Concept package will become available as a production model or a competition vehicle, the display demonstrates how the brand is using its motorsport experience and Ralliart branding to give the all-new Pajero a more rugged and performance-oriented personality.

Mitsubishi AXCR Team Director and multiple Dakar-winning racing legend Hiroshi Masuoka also signified his intent in campaigning the all-new Pajero during the last AXCR post-victory press conference, pending company approval, of course.

With Team Mitsubishi Ralliart continuing to compete and succeed in cross-country rallying, the Pajero Rally Concept could be seen as a modern interpretation of the nameplate’s long-standing connection to off-road competition, where it excelled with numerous championship victories.
