Save The Date: All-new Mitsubishi Pajero launches September 2
Mitsubishi to hold official debut of next-gen Pajero on Sept 2, 2026
After countless teasers, sightings, and reports, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) is all set to reveal the next-generation Pajero.
One week before its official launch, MMC has confirmed that on September 2, 2026, the all-new Pajero will be revealed. This confirms our previous report last month that the automaker planned to launch the next-generation 4x4 SUV in September.
Based on teaser information the automaker has released, the all-new Pajero will feature a highly robust and durable ladder frame chassis that's paired with a suspension system geared for on-road and off-road performance. It's been reported that it will likely share the same platform as the Triton, albeit modified to better suit the Pajero's needs and clientele. It will also come with the brand's Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) technology to optimize handling, handle off-road capability, and traverse various driving scenarios with ease.

Beyond that, the all-new Pajero will reportedly grow into a family of models, as confirmed by Mitsubishi during their 57th General Meeting of Shareholders. While specifics have yet to be revealed, a report by Nikkei Asia said that a more compact model of the Pajero will also be available and may share parts with the Outlander PHEV. There will also be a kei car version of the Pajero, which could put it in the same size category as the Suzuki Jimny/Sierra.
In terms of powertrain, the next-generation Pajero is expected to be powered by the brand's 2.4L MIVEC bi-turbo diesel engine, which is already seeing use in the latest Triton pickup. A hybrid version has also been reported, though this particular engine could power the aforementioned compact model to take on the likes of the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, and Nissan X-Trail.
With only one week to go before the big reveal, we're hoping Mitsubishi reveals more details and information about the all-new Pajero before the grand reveal on September 2.
