Remember when Geely revealed the camouflaged photos of its upcoming plug-in hybrid 4x4 called the Galaxy Cruiser 700? Well, the disguise is no more, as Geely shared the official images of its boxy PHEV for all to see, and it looks impressive.

Billed as an off-road SUV by Geely, the Galaxy Cruiser 700 will essentially take on the likes of the Denza B5/B8, Jetour G700, and other frame-based PHEV SUVs. As seen from the camouflaged photos several weeks ago, the Galaxy Cruiser 700 features a boxy design that appears to have been inspired by the Ford Bronco and Land Rover Defender.

From the distinct front fascia with its eye-catching LED light signatures, to the round headlights, the boxy D-pillars, the swing-out tailgate, and the rear-mounted spare tire, Geely made sure the Galaxy Cruiser 700 looks the part of an off-road SUV.

The SUV also comes with unpainted bumpers, prominent wheel arches with black body cladding, stylish alloy wheels, and a LiDAR sensor on the roof, which gives the vehicle semi-autonomous driving capabilities. Last but not least are the vertically-stacked LED taillights, which somehow remind us of the Land Rover Defender.

As mentioned before, the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 will be powered by a plug-in hybrid system, which consists of three electric motors, a high-capacity battery pack, and a turbocharged engine, which serves as the onboard generator.

The result is a combined system output of 1,129 PS, which means power will not be a problem in both off-road and on-road driving conditions. Geely also said the Galaxy Cruiser 700 has a fluid-coupled locking mechanism between the front & rear axles to make it capable over any terrain.

Other details about the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 PHEV have yet to be revealed. But with the automaker already revealing official images, we might not have to wait long before its debut later this year.
