After several years of dormancy, a compact crossover SUV has returned to the Philippines. Kia Philippines distributor ACMobility has just officially launched the all-new Sportage, and it now benefits from an electrified powertrain. 

This is the 2026 Kia Sportage Turbo Hybrid, and from its namesake, it’s packing quite the engine under the hood. With the return of the Kia Sportage, it’s aiming against the likes of the Toyota RAV4, Nissan X-Trail e-Power, Honda CR-V e:HEV, and the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid.

Beginning with its electrified hardware, the Sportage Turbo Hybrid is powered by a 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s assisted by an electric motor and a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery. This gives the Sportage a total system output of 235 PS and a healthy 367 Nm of torque, which is then routed to a 6-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels.

Those familiar with the Sorento Turbo Hybrid will find the all-new Sportage’s hybrid powertrain familiar since it’s the same engine and electric motor. Heck, it’s also the same one that can be found in the Carnival Turbo Hybrid.

Size-wise, the all-new Sportage Turbo Hybrid measures 4660mm long, 1865mm wide, and 1665mm tall on a 2680mm wheelbase. It also has 181mm of ground clearance, a curb weight of 2195 kg, and stylish two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Sportage Turbo Hybrid’s return sees Kia Philippines bringing the facelifted fifth-generation model. This gives the electrified crossover the brand’s latest “Opposites United” design language. This is highlighted by the signature tiger-nose grille, vertical LED headlights, and the distinct LED daytime running lights that surround the far corners.

Also worth mentioning is the generous use of gloss black trim, which can be seen on the wheel arch moldings, the door side sills, on parts of the side mirror caps, the front grille, the window surrounds, and on the bumpers. Last but not least, the Sportage Turbo Hybrid gets a nice pair of wraparound LED taillights and a tailgate spoiler.

Hop inside, and the all-new Sportage Turbo Hybrid welcomes occupants with a pair of digital displays. Both measure 12.3 inches, with the driver’s side serving as the instrument panel, while the other is the touchscreen media display. Speaking of touchscreens, the Kia Sportage’s media display supports both wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity.

All variants of the Sportage Turbo Hybrid come with leather upholstery, including the steering wheel. However, the entry-level EX only has a manual-adjust driver’s seat, while the top-of-the-line SX gets a power-adjustable driver’s seat. A 6-speaker sound system is standard on the EX version, although audiophiles will be happy to know the SX model gets an 8-speaker system courtesy of Harman Kardon.

Other available amenities inside the new Sportage Turbo Hybrid include a wireless charging pad, a host of USB charging ports, 60:40 split rear seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, mood lighting, a rotary-style gear selector, a power tailgate, a reverse camera, and front & rear parking sensors.

For extra peace of mind, the all-new Sportage Turbo Hybrid is also available with the Kia DriveWise - the brand’s suite of advanced driver assist systems (ADAS). Exclusive only to the SX version, it gives the electrified crossover intelligent driver aids, such as forward collision avoidance with autonomous emergency braking, advanced smart cruise control (regular cruise control on the EX), lane departure warning, lane-keep assistance, blind-spot collision avoidance, and lane-following assist.

Available colors for the 2026 Kia Sportage Turbo Hybrid include Gravity Gray, Heritage Blue, Snow White Pearl, and Wolf Gray.

The Sportage Turbo Hybrid EX is yours for PHP 1,978,000. However, Kia is offering the EX version at a special introductory price of 1.898M for the month of July.

Meanwhile, the 1.6 Sportage Turbo Hybrid SX retails for PHP 2,098,000.
