Kia Sportage to make PH comeback as a turbo-hybrid crossover SUV
After officially announcing the return of the crossover SUV during the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), Kia Philippines has declared that, come next week, the Sportage will be making its comeback in the country.
On July 24, 2026, Kia Philippines will hold the official debut of the Sportage Turbo Hybrid. According to the automaker, the Sportage will return smarter than ever and is ready to turn heads once again. While the brand has yet to reveal its exact specifications, the automaker did say that it will now have a turbo-hybrid powertrain.
In fact, the Department of Energy (DOE) has already recognized the upcoming Kia Sportage Turbo Hybrid, and there will be two variants available. Based on what the agency has listed, the all-new Sportage Turbo Hybrid will be available in EX and SX variants and will be powered by a 1598cc (or 1.6L) turbo-hybrid powertrain.

The 1.6L turbo makes 180 PS and 265 Nm of torque, while its electric motor puts out 65 PS with 264 Nm of torque. The motor then gets its power from a 1.49 kWh battery pack. Based on what other markets get, the Kia Sportage Turbo Hybrid makes a combined 230 PS with 350 Nm of torque and is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Size-wise, the all-new Sportage Turbo Hybrid measures 4685mm long, 1865mm wide, and 1660mm tall on a 2755mm wheelbase. Once revealed, the Sportage Turbo Hybrid will slot below the Sorento Turbo Hybrid as a compact crossover model.
With the Kia Sportage set to make its return to the Philippine market, we won't be surprised if several customers have already placed reservations ahead of its scheduled launch on July 24, next week.
