BMW iX4 is an electric coupe SUV, done Neue Klasse style
BMW iX4 offers up to 828 km of range
The third member of the BMW Neue Klasse family has been revealed.
Making its global debut is the all-new BMW iX4, which brings the brand's next-generation electric vehicle technology and styling into a sportier SUV coupé body style.

The iX4 combines a sloping roofline with BMW's new design language, 800-volt electrical architecture and a software-defined vehicle platform. Measuring 4,782 mm long, 1,895 mm wide and around 1,595 mm tall, the iX4’s proportions are defined by short overhangs, a long wheelbase and a low roofline, giving it a distinctly coupé-like profile while retaining the stance of an SUV.

Up front, the iX4 adopts the Neue Klasse interpretation of BMW's signature kidney grille and twin headlights, which visually merge into one graphic element. At the rear, slim horizontal taillights are integrated into the tailgate, while a prominent spoiler with an integrated brake light emphasizes its aerodynamic focus.
The standard M Sport package brings 20-inch M alloy wheels and M Sport brakes with blue calipers, while the iX4 M60 xDrive gets 21-inch wheels as standard. Wheel sizes up to 22 inches are available.

Inside, the iX4 carries over the minimalist, driver-focused approach introduced with Neue Klasse. The centerpiece of the cabin is BMW Panoramic iDrive running on BMW Operating System X. It combines the BMW Panoramic Vision display, an optional 3D Head-Up Display, and a 17.9-inch central touchscreen with a new sports steering wheel featuring integrated "shy-tech" controls.
Buyers can choose from seven interior combinations, while the rear bench uses a 40:20:40 split-folding configuration. For the range-topping M60, it gets its own M Sport steering wheel and M-specific displays, including a Powermeter. A seven-speaker, 205-watt hi-fi system is standard, while the M60 comes with a 13-speaker, 430-watt Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos.

In terms of cargo space, the iX4 also offers a 490-liter luggage compartment that expands to 1,600 liters with the rear seats folded, plus a 58-liter storage compartment or “frunk” under the hood.
For its initial launch, the model range consists of the iX4 40 xDrive and iX4 50 xDrive. Every version uses BMW's sixth-generation eDrive technology that has an 800-volt electrical architecture, with an electric motor at each axle and xDrive all-wheel drive. The former produces 275 kW or 374 PS and 520 Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, with a maximum range of up to 638 km.

Meanwhile, the iX4 50 xDrive produces 345 kW or 469 PS and 645 Nm, cuts the 0-100 km/h sprint to 4.9 seconds and can travel up to 828 km on a charge. Its 108.7-kWh usable battery can accept up to 400 kW of DC charging, adding up to 387 km of WLTP range in 10 minutes under ideal conditions.
The range-topping iX4 M60 xDrive will follow shortly after launch. Its dual-motor setup produces 450 kW or 612 PS and 875 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds and a 240-km/h electronically limited top speed. BMW quotes a maximum range of up to 777 km. The M Performance variant also gets adaptive M suspension, variable-ratio sport steering and an electronically controlled M locking differential at the rear axle.

When it comes to advanced safety features, the iX4 gets a broad suite of active driver assistance systems built around BMW Symbiotic Drive. These include Lane Keeping Assistant, Lane Change Warning, Side Collision Warning with steering intervention, Crossing Traffic Warning with emergency braking, and Emergency Brake Assistant with Evasion Assistant. The system can also provide enhanced emergency steering intervention and improved detection of objects such as wildlife.

The BMW iX4 is scheduled to enter global markets beginning March 2027. With BMW Philippines already offering all-electric models like the i4 and iX2, that means there’s good reason to expect a Philippine launch somewhere around the middle of the year, if not towards a Q3 launch.
