All-new BMW iX3 Neue Klasse gets DOE EV recognition
First of many Neue Klasse BMWs are on the way to PH
The first of many BMW Neue Klasse vehicles is on its way to the Philippines. After making its regional debut in Thailand earlier this year during the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS), the all-new iX3 EV has just been recognized by the Department of Energy (DOE).

Based on the agency’s updated listing, the DOE has officially recognized the all-new iX3 as an EV. Not only that, but it’s also listed as a 2026 model year and measures 4782mm long, 1895mm wide, and 1635mm tall. More importantly, the variant that was recently approved by the DOE is the iX3 50 xDrive. Heck, the DOE also mentioned it has a massive 113.4 kWh battery pack (usable battery is rated at 108.7 kWh) and a maximum electric output of 345 kW or 469 PS.

Once revealed for the Philippine market, the all-new iX3 50 xDrive will most likely get similar specs as the one launched in Thailand and elsewhere around the world. That means a pair of electric motors that deliver a combined 469 PS and a healthy 645 Nm of torque. Thanks to an 800V architecture and a 108.7 kWh battery, the iX3 50 xDrive can travel up to 805 km on a single charge on the WLTP cycle.

The iX3 50 xDrive also supports up to 400 kW of DC charging, which means a quick 10-minute charge can give it a range of up to 372 km. Heck, BMW says a 21-minute recharge when hooked up to a 400 kW DC charger can replenish the battery from 10% to 80%. Alternatively, it also has a standard 11 kW Type 2 AC charging and an optional 22 kW AC charging unit.
Since the all-new iX3 is now on the DOE’s list of recognized EVs, we can expect BMW Philippines to hold an official launch later this year or near the end of 2026.
