Toyota hits pause on Thailand production due to recent flooding
Toyota Motor Thailand temporarily halts car production due to flooding
With the recent flooding in Bangkok, Thailand, automakers like Toyota have announced a temporary pause in factory operations.
This follows Toyota Motor Thailand's announcement that, from October 5 until October 10, 2026, some of its factories in Thailand will temporarily stop producing cars. With floodwaters endangering employees, disrupting supply lines, and flooding parts of the facilities in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Chachoengsao, and Chonburi provinces, Toyota Motor Thailand said temporarily halting operations is the best course of action for now.
With several factories temporarily closed, delays in the delivery of several models made by Toyota Motor Thailand for export markets like the Philippines are expected. These include the all-new Hilux, Ativ, Corolla Altis, Land Cruiser FJ, Corolla Cross, and the Zenix.
Since Toyota Motor Thailand has temporarily stopped producing cars, Filipino customers waiting for Thailand-made vehicles may have to wait a little longer.
Other manufacturers producing cars in Thailand are also affected and expected to implement their plant stoppages; we are waiting for their announcements and will publish once official.
