Toyota GR GT supercar will be sold through exclusive GR dealership in PH
Toyota Motor Philippines is preparing to shake up the local high-performance landscape with a truly monumental addition to its Gazoo Racing stable.
Speaking during a recent media briefing, Toyota Motor Philippines marketing head Senior Vice President Sherwin Chua Lim officially confirmed the eventual local release of the highly anticipated Toyota GR GT supercar, bringing a proper road-going racing machine straight to local showrooms. Positioned far above the GR Corolla and GR Supra, the upcoming halo model signals a bold new chapter for the Japanese brand as it aims squarely at the global supercar elite.

Developed from the ground up completely in-house by Toyota's motorsport division, the GR GT is a radical departure from the shared platforms of past performance models. The flagship sports car employs a reverse engineering approach where extreme aerodynamics, cooling efficiency, and track stability dictated the final design before styling was even finalized. Beneath the highly sculpted carbon fiber reinforced plastic body panels and low slung silhouette lies an all-aluminum space frame chassis engineered to maximize structural rigidity while keeping the vehicle center of gravity as low as possible.

Powering this track bred machine is a newly developed 4.0-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine featuring a hot V configuration and dry sump lubrication. To further elevate performance, the internal combustion engine is augmented by a transaxle-integrated single motor hybrid system. The advanced parallel hybrid setup aims for a massive combined system output of 641 horsepower and 850 Newton-meters of torque. All that power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via a newly developed eight-speed automatic transmission utilizing a wet start clutch and a mechanical limited-slip differential.

The two-seat cabin balances the extreme nature of a racing machine with the comfort required for everyday road use. Drivers can expect heavily bolstered Recaro bucket seats, a driver-centric digital layout, and adjustable vehicle stability controls that allow owners to tune the amount of electronics intervention to their preference. While the production version is slated for a global launch around 2027 alongside its GR GT3 racing counterpart, the official confirmation from Senior Vice President Sherwin Chua Lim ensures that local collectors and hardcore track enthusiasts will get their chance to own this definitive piece of modern JDM history.

Given the highly specialized nature and extreme performance threshold of the flagship supercar, allocation is expected to be exceptionally tight. Based on a reliable source, distribution and customer servicing will be handled exclusively by a specialized Toyota GR Performance dealership.
The select venue will serve as the exclusive retail hub where the halo machine can be viewed by prospective buyers, ensuring an appropriately premium and motorsport-tailored vehicle acquisition experience for the handful of fortunate Filipino owners. This will be an elite showroom likely patterned after the GR Garage found in Japan that is staffed by specially trained technicians and brand experts.
As for pricing, that will be announced closer to launch.
