Super Tourer: Aston Martin reveals the all-new DB12
Now with 680 PS and 800 Nm of torque from its twin-turbo V8 engine
Whoever will play Agent 007 in the next Bond film is bound to get a new ride from Q.
After 7 years, Aston Martin proudly presents its all-new grand tourer, the DB12. Featuring more power, better dynamics, and higher levels of premium comfort inside, the British marque calls the DB12 its “most complete and accomplished DB model” in the company's rich history.

For starters, the DB12 takes on more of an evolutionary rather than a revolutionary approach when it comes to design. The silhouette still bears some similarities with the DB11, but the front has been heavily revised with the large grille flanked by LED headlights. The front splitter has also been reprofiled, and the DB12 is now sporting the new Aston Martin wing emblem above the grille.
Size-wise, Aston Martin says track width has been increased by 6mm in front and 22mm at the rear. Complementing the DB12's wide track stance is a set of 21-inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in 275mm front, and 315mm wide Michelin Pilot Sport 5S tires.

Step inside the all-new DB12 and you get a driver-centric cockpit that has its interior wrapped in high-quality leather and Alcantara. The ultra-lux cabin has Aston Martin's latest bespoke infotainment system that features wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, plus a surround sound system by Bowers & Wilkins. It features the Aston Martin connected car suite where Over The Air (OTA) updates and diagnostics can be done.

There's no mention of V12 power yet for the DB12. However, its new 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 powerplant sourced from Mercedes already makes more power than the DB11 V12, producing 680 PS at 6000 rpm and 800 Nm of torque between 2750 to 6000 rpm. The hand-built engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels via an electronic rear differential.
To cope with the increase in power and torque, Aston Martin beefed up the DB12's adaptive dampers and stiffened the anti-roll bars. The DB12 has three driving modes – GT, Sport, and Sport+, which dial in the right response and suspension setting to the driver's liking.

Aston Martin says deliveries of the DB12 in global markets will begin by Q3 2023, while pricing details could follow once they roll out the units. As for the Philippines, however, we may have to wait at least until 2024 to see the DB12 in the local Aston Martin dealership.
