Spied: Is this Aston Martin Vantage Prototype aimed at 911 GT3?
Aston Martin is cooking up a track-slaying Vantage flagship with central quad pipes and massive rear wing
What goes through your mind when you check your rearview mirror on the roads surrounding the Nürburgring and spot an unbelievably aggressive, wide-mouthed front end closing in? You pull over, let it pass, and roll down the window to savor the unholy roar of a twin-turbo V8!

Spy photographers on the ground at the Green Hell have captured the best images yet of a hardcore, track-focused Aston Martin Vantage variant. Rumored to revive the prestigious "RS" or "AMR" moniker, this prototype abandons any pretense of understated British elegance in favor of unapologetic motorsport aggression.

Up front, the prototype wears a heavily reworked front fascia featuring a deeper front splitter, enlarged radiator cooling intakes, and integrated air curtains designed to channel high-speed airflow around the front wheels. Out back, the rear end is dominated by a motorsport-derived fixed rear wing that generates massive downforce, paired with a redesigned lower diffuser. The most striking detail, however, is a new centrally mounted quad-exhaust layout—a distinctive setup reminiscent of BMW M performance models—which frees up aerodynamic flow along the outer edges of the rear bumper.
Underneath the vented bonnet sits a high-output evolution of the brand’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. Given that the newly updated Vantage already churns out a massive 680 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque in standard trim, it is a safe bet that Gaydon’s engineers are pushing output figures even further to match the prototype's track-ready aero package.

While official technical specifications and naming details remain firmly under wraps, one thing is abundantly clear from its high-speed test runs: Aston Martin is building an absolute monster. Porsche, BMW M, and Mercedes-AMG had better watch their backs—Gaydon is cooking up something extremely hot.
