All-new Mitsubishi Pajero to grow into family of models

All-new Mitsubishi Pajero to grow into family of models
Mitsubishi Motors confirms there will be several models under the Pajero name
Just before the end of May 2026, Mitsubishi dropped a bombshell after officially confirming that the legendary Pajero will make a comeback. That's right, an all-new body-on-frame SUV will carry on the Pajero name after years of dormancy.
Not only will the next-generation Pajero serve as the brand's flagship SUV, but its Triton-derived platform will also feature unique front & rear suspension tuning and model-specific developments for the cabin structure. This is to ensure that the all-new Pajero will deliver refined, premium ride quality while also offering heavy-duty wheel articulation and off-road capability.
With Mitsubishi heavily banking on the return of the Pajero name for its newest flagship SUV, the automaker also said that there will be a family of models under the Pajero lineup. This was announced during Mitsubishi Motors Corporation's (MMC) 57th General Meeting of Shareholders, where the company stated that it plans to introduce a series of new products under the Pajero name.

Think of it like the Pajero Sport/Montero Sport, but more diverse and includes smaller SUV models. To jog your memory, Mitsubishi did this before with the second-generation Pajero, as it was also offered with the Pajero Mini, the Pajero Jr., and the Pajero iO.
While the automaker did not go into specifics, perhaps the all-new Pajero family of models may likely mirror that of Toyota's Land Cruiser line. Today, the Land Cruiser lineup consists of the light-duty Land Cruiser FJ, the Land Cruiser Prado, the heavy duty Land Cruiser 70, and the flagship Land Cruiser 300. Should Mitsubishi go with this plan, it will certainly be interesting to see what Mitsubishi has in store for customers and enthusiasts later this year.
With the all-new Mitsubishi Pajero scheduled to make its big debut in Autumn 2026, we're hoping the brand releases more details about the upcoming flagship SUV and its sequential models in the coming months.
