PIMS 2026: MG PH reveals all-new MG4, RX9 PHEV, and HS PHEV
MG Motor PH wows at PIMS 2026 with a trio of electrified vehicles
MG Motor Philippines had one heck of a reveal on the first day of the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show. Instead of revealing just one vehicle, the automaker revealed a total of three new vehicles at the World Trade Center Metro Manila.
Making their Philippine debut are the all-new MG4 Urban, the MG RX9 PHEV, and the MG HS PHEV. Not only do they serve as the brand’s latest tour de force in electrified mobility, but the trio of vehicles from MG highlights the company’s commitment to providing quality vehicles to Filipino customers.

Let’s start with the MG4, which is now on its second generation and is aimed at the likes of the BYD Dolphin, Chery Q, Geely EX2, and GAC AION UT EVs. It gets a sleeker and more mature design compared to its predecessor, along with a revamped spec sheet and electric hardware. A 42.8 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack powers a single electric motor, which produces 163 PS and 250 Nm of torque. On a full charge, the MG4 has a claimed range of up to 403 km and has four drive modes to choose from: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Custom.

Recharging the battery can be done in two ways: a standard 6.6 kW AC charger and a faster 82 kW DC charging station. The former can replenish the battery from 20% to 100% in 7.5 hours, while the latter can quickly recharge the battery from 20% to 80% in only 35 minutes. While on the go, the MG4 can recharge itself via regenerative braking, which has four modes - Low, Medium, High, and Adaptive.
Size-wise, the MG4 Urban measures 4395mm long, 1842mm wide, and 1551mm tall on a 2750mm wheelbase. It also has up to 1,266 liters of cargo space with the rear seats folded (382 liters with the rear seats deployed) and a cargo underfloor storage that provides an extra 98 liters of luggage space.

Interior features for the MG4 Urban include a 12.8-inch touchscreen media display with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a 7-inch digital instrument panel, a four-speaker sound system, leather upholstery, 60:40 split rear seats, automatic climate control with rear vents, keyless smart entry, a wireless charging pad, front & rear USB charging ports, and a one-pedal drive function.

Next is the MG RX9 PHEV, which is the brand’s answer to the likes of the BYD Tang DM-i and the Chery Tiggo rEV. It’s MG’s biggest electrified vehicle yet, as it measures 4983mm long, 1967mm wide, and 1786mm tall on a 2915mm wheelbase.
Given the RX9’s immense size, MG says it can carry up to 2,093 liters worth of cargo with both the third-row and second-row seats folded. With just the rear seats folded, it can still carry 1,026 liters worth of luggage.

At the heart of the RX9 is a 1.5L turbocharged dedicated hybrid engine that’s assisted by an electric motor. The result is a combined system output of 299 PS that’s sent to the front wheels via a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). On battery power alone via a 24.7 LFP battery pack, MG says it can do up to 115 km of range. But with the help of a full tank of gasoline, MG claims the RX9 PHEV can easily do more than 1,100 km.
Since the RX9 serves as the brand’s flagship plug-in hybrid, it’s filled to the brim with countless features. Perhaps one of its main highlights is its generous legroom for the second row.

Other key features available inside the RX9 include full leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats with a driver memory function, massage & cooling functions for the front seats, three-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a power tailgate, a wireless charging pad, USB charging ports for all rows of seats, and MG Pilot, which is the brand’s suite of advanced driver assist systems (ADAS).
Last but certainly not least is the MG HS PHEV. It joins the HS Hybrid+ and is capable of running on pure EV power over certain distances.

Like the hybrid version, the HS PHEV also comes with a 1.5L turbocharged engine, which makes a respectable 143 PS and 230 Nm of torque. However, that’s where the similarities end, as the HS PHEV benefits from a 21.6 kWh LFP battery and an electric motor that produces 184 PS with 340 Nm of torque. The result is a total system output of 272 PS.
On just EV power alone, the HS PHEV can travel up to 100 km with ease. But with the help of a 1.5L turbo engine and a full tank of gasoline, the HS PHEV can easily do more than 1,000 km.

Size-wise, the HS PHEV measures 4670mm long, 1890mm wide, and 1663mm tall on a 2765mm wheelbase. Despite being marginally smaller than the RX9, the HS PHEV can carry up to 1,291 liters worth of cargo with the rear seats folded (441 liters with the rear seats up).
The MG HS PHEV also has plenty of amenities available. These include a pair of 12.3-inch digital displays that serve as the instrument panel and touchscreen media system, dual-zone climate control, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, power-adjustable front seats with driver memory function, an 8-speaker sound system, leather upholstery, a 360-degree camera system, a power tailgate, a wireless charging pad, and MG Pilot ADAS.

The MG4 Urban retails for PHP 1,198,888, but the first 100 buyers can get it for just PHP 1,148,888. Moreover, customers will get a free 7kW wallbox charger valued at PHP 30,000 for free.
Meanwhile, the MG HS PHEV is selling for PHP 1,548,888, while the MG RX9 PHEV has a sticker price of PHP 1,998,888. However, customers who reserve either of the two units until the end of June can get a discount of PHP 30,000, bringing their price to just PHP 1,518,888 and PHP 1,968,888, respectively.
