Did MG PH tease all-new MG4, RX9, and HS PHEV?
MG to reveal a trio of vehicles at 2026 Philippine International Motor Show
MG Motor Philippines has been quietly moving behind the scenes after showcasing its latest offerings at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show last month. With the latest MG5 and the G50 plug-in hybrid MPV proving to be popular with buyers, the automaker is once again set to make a statement at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
Based on a teaser photo the manufacturer recently released, the brand will have a trio of vehicles that will make their presence felt at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City. Looking at the silhouettes of each vehicle, it looks like MG Motor Philippines is set to reveal the all-new MG4 EV, the RX9 plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and the HS PHEV.

We already saw the MG4 and the RX9 get recognition from the Department of Energy (DOE) as an EV and PHEV. In fact, we did news on the MG4 Urban EV last week, while the RX9 PHEV was already listed since early May. But what about the HS PHEV?
Well, a quick visit to the DOE's website and the HS PHEV has been listed as a 2026 model year vehicle. This is not the first time MG Motor PH has brought the HS PHEV, as they originally previewed it during PIMS 2024. However, they decided to first launch the HS HEV variant.
Based on the initial specifications of the upcoming plug-in hybrid, the MG HS PHEV will have a 1.5L turbocharged engine that makes 143 PS and 230 Nm of torque. It is then assisted by an electric motor that puts out 184 PS with 340 Nm of torque, a 21.6 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack, and a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).

On battery power alone, MG says the HS PHEV can do up to 100 km, based on the WLTP cycle. With both the turbo and electric motor powertrains working together, MG claims that the HS PHEV can do more than 1,000 km.
Once revealed, the HS PHEV could go toe-to-toe with the likes of the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, Geely EX5 EM-i, Jaecoo J7 SHS, and the Jetour T1 Lightning. Meanwhile, the MG4 could serve as the brand's affordable electric hatchback against the BYD Dolphin, Geely EX2, GAC AION UT, and the Chery Q. Last but not least is the RX9 PHEV, which could take on the BYD Tang DM-i and Chery Tiggo rEV.
With only one week to go before this year's PIMS, we'll keep our eyes peeled for more info about MG's upcoming launches next week.
