It's been more than a month since Nissan previewed several vehicles at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). While Nissan Philippines already launched the all-new X-Trail e-Power last month, they also brought with them three vehicles that they plan to launch later this year: the new Kicks e-Power, the Navara Pro PHEV, and the Primera EV.

With several upcoming vehicles from Nissan, the Japanese automaker is out to prove it is still one of the most popular brands in the country. In fact, come August, Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) is set to launch its newest electrified B-SUV.

That's right, Nissan PH will officially reveal the new Kicks e-Power next month, and it will be available in four different variants. This comes after the Department of Energy (DOE) recently updated its list of recognized hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and has added the new Kicks e-Power.

The agency has listed the new Kicks e-Power as a 2027 model-year vehicle and will be offered in four distinct variants: VE, VL, LE, and LE Plus. Based on the variant offerings, the VE may serve as the new base model, while the VL might become the new mid-range version. Last but not least are LE and LE Plus, which may become the nameplate's new top-of-the-line offering.

There will also be Premium Color versions available for the 2027 Kicks e-Power, which may include the new Electric Cyan finish that was shown at this year's PIMS. In terms of size, the 2027 Kicks e-Power will measure 4300mm long, 1760mm wide, and 1615mm tall on a 2620mm wheelbase.

Like the Thai-spec version, the new Nissan Kicks e-Power will feature a revamped front fascia that features a sportier bumper, sleeker LED headlights, and a bolder hood. It also gets new alloy wheels, more dynamic LED taillights, and a new rear bumper.

Meanwhile, the interior of the 2027 Kicks e-Power gets a makeover courtesy of a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, a new digital instrument panel, more soft-touch materials, an updated center console, and a longer list of features.

Under the hood, the 2027 Kicks e-Power still comes with a 1.2L three-cylinder engine that serves as a generator for the 2.10 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and to assist the onboard electric motor. Power output for the electric motor remains at 136 PS with 280 Nm of torque.

With the Nissan Kicks e-Power already getting DOE recognition, we're hoping to get more details about the new B-SUV before its official launch next month. But for now, you can check out our first impressions of the latest Kicks e-Power when we got to drive it in Thailand earlier this year.
