Geely Motor Philippines Corporation is looking to take on the likes of the BYD Dolphin by offering a similarly-sized (and cute) electric hatchback. The automaker arrived at this year's Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) and showed its newest offering.

Aside from bringing the recently launched EX5 EM-i plug-in hybrid crossover, Geely also revealed the all-electric EX2, a subcompact hatchback that highlights the brand’s continued push toward electrification.

The company is not yet ready to launch the EX2 just yet, as Geely is only holding a preview of the EV hatchback at the World Trade Center Metro Manila. However, the automaker did mention that there will be two variants: Pro and Max, both sharing the same core electric powertrain.

The EX2 has a single electric motor producing 85 kW (115 PS) and 150 Nm of torque. Energy is supplied by a 39.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, enabling a claimed range of up to 325 km based on the WLTP cycle

Charging options are likewise competitive for the segment. Using an AC charger, replenishing the battery from 10% to 100% takes up to 6.5 hours. Meanwhile, a 70 kW DC fast charger can recharge the battery from 30% to 80% in approximately 25 minutes. The battery is also liquid-cooled to keep it under optimal temperatures while on the go.

In terms of size, the EX2 measures 4,135 mm long, 1,805 mm wide, and 1,580 mm tall on a 2,650 mm wheelbase, with up to 162 mm of ground clearance. It offers 375 liters of cargo space, expanding to 1,320 liters with the rear seats folded, and has a curb weight of around 1,300 kg.

Inside, the EX2 features leather or fabric seats, manual air-conditioning with rear vents, and either a 540-degree camera or a reverse camera. A 14.6-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto takes center stage, alongside a wireless charger, full LED lighting, and multiple airbags.

With its practical size, competitive range, and well-rounded feature set, the Geely EX2 positions itself as an accessible entry point into electric mobility for urban buyers. It also has some driving amenities like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning.

Interested buyers can now place a reservation for the Geely EX2 at MIAS 2026 with a PHP 5,000 reservation deposit. Price-wise, Geely will reportedly retail the EX2 between PHP 950,000 and PHP 1,050,000.

Should the automaker price the EX2 in this manner, it will significantly undercut the BYD Dolphin, which currently retails at PHP 1.398 million.
