Remember when Geely said they planned to give the EX2 more range with a bigger battery pack? Well, the automaker did just that and then some after officially revealing the refreshed EX2 electric hatchback.

Also called the Geely Xingyuan, the tiny but cute EV hatch recently received some important updates for the 2026 model year, and boy, was the automaker busy. For starters, the top-of-the-line variants are now available with a 47.14 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery from CATL. The result is a maximum cruising range of up to 480 km, based on the CLTC cycle.

In comparison, the PH-spec Geely EX2 will likely have a range of up to 325 km, based on the WLTP cycle with its 39.4 kWh LFP battery. If we were to convert the updated EX2’s CLTC range of 480 km, its WLTP range will be 398 km, which is still impressive for such a small electric hatchback. Power still comes from a single rear electric motor that produces 85 kW or 115 PS with 150 Nm of torque.

When it comes to recharging, the 47.14 kWh LFP battery can be recharged from 30% to 80% in only 19 minutes when hooked up to a fast DC charger. The EX2 also supports 6.6 kW of AC charging, which is slower but is more practical for home use or in public charging stations.

Design-wise, the updated Geely EX2 still looks relatively the same but gets some minor exterior changes. Perhaps the most obvious are the new 16-inch alloy wheels that feature a petal-like design. Also present are what appear to be tweaked LED headlights & taillights. In terms of size, the Geely EX2 still measures 4135mm long, 1805mm wide, and 1570mm tall on a 2650mm wheelbase.

For extra peace of mind while on the road, the Geely EX2 is now available with the G-ASD G-Pilot H3 driver assist system. This gives the EV semi-autonomous driving features like navigation on autopilot while on the highway, automated parking, and even a sentry mode just like Tesla.

Inside, the EX2 comes with a plethora of features like an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel, a 50W wireless charging pad, a 540-degree camera system via the 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control with rear vents, leather upholstery, and ambient lighting.

With Geely Philippines already previewing the current EX2 at this year's Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), it might take a while for the updated version to arrive in the Philippines. However, we’re hoping Geely brings it here soon since other competitors like the MG4 Urban, GAC AION UT, and the Chery Q are set to make their official debut soon.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that Geely Philippines officially launches the EX2 later this week at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
