When Geely Motor Philippines Corporation brought the EX2 to the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), it garnered plenty of attention from showgoers who want a small, budget-friendly EV amid the ongoing volatility of fuel prices.

With a range of up to 325 km, 115 PS on tap from a single electric motor, and the ability to recharge in as little as 25 minutes via DC charging, it's no surprise the Geely EX2 generated plenty of buzz. Heck, the automaker plans to sell the EX2 between PHP 950K and PHP 1,050,000, although the automaker has yet to finalize its exact pricing.

Over in China, the Geely EX2 (AKA Geely Xingyuan) is set to receive some key changes, particularly in its battery pack. Compared to the model we're getting, which is rated to get a 39.4 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery, the EX2 in China is set to be available with an even bigger 47 kWh battery.

The result is a longer range, which Geely claims will give the EX2 up to 460 km, based on the CLTC cycle. But with the PH-spec EX2 using the WLTP cycle, how much range does the updated EX2 with the bigger 47 kWh battery pack have? Well, after a quick conversion, the upgraded EX2 will have a range of up to 380 km, which is relatively more than the 325 km of the current EX2.

The updated Geely EX2 is set to be revealed later this week in China, which means it's highly unlikely that we'll get it right away. Still, with its dashing looks, competitive pricing, and list of features, the Geely EX2 will most likely attract customers who want an EV that won't break the bank, especially with fuel prices still relatively high.
