Mercedes-Benz E-Class BEV spotted testing at Nürburgring
All-electric Mercedes-Benz E-Class expected to launch in 2027
Mercedes-Benz appears to be developing an all-electric version of the E-Class, with a prototype recently spotted undergoing testing at the Nürburgring.
Expected to launch in 2027, the new luxury sedan could mark a significant expansion of the German automaker’s electric vehicle lineup, with the latest spyshots revealing more details of its production design.

Despite the heavy camouflage, the prototype provides a closer look at its headlights and taillights, along with a more traditional sedan silhouette. This could distinguish the electric E-Class from some of Mercedes-Benz’s more unconventional EV designs, potentially appealing to buyers who prefer the proportions of a conventional luxury sedan.

The upcoming model is expected to ride on Mercedes-Benz’s MB.EA-M electric vehicle platform. According to current reports, the electric E-Class could offer a driving range of up to 1,000 kilometers on a single charge, although this figure remains unconfirmed and will likely depend on the final powertrain and battery configuration.

The expected lineup could include rear-wheel-drive variants with a single electric motor, as well as dual-motor versions with the automaker’s 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. The sedan is also anticipated to feature the latest MBUX infotainment technology and advanced driver assistance systems, bringing it in line with Mercedes-Benz’s next generation of vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz has yet to announce the electric E-Class’s official specifications or confirm its final name. With a potential 2027 launch, further testing should provide a clearer picture of its design, performance, and range as development continues.
