Kia launches 2023 EV6 next month
All-electric Kia EV6 comes in GT-Line Long Range variant only
After holding a preview of its sleek and futuristic EV during last year's PIMS, Kia Philippines officially announced the launch of its new EV very soon.
Come March 21, 2023, the Kia EV6 will be revealed to the Philippine market and will be available in just one variant; the GT-Line Long Range. More importantly, Kia has shared with us the specs and features of the upcoming EV6 ahead of its launch.

Starting with the most important components, the EV6 will be powered by a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that drives a rear-mounted electric motor that delivers 229 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It also has a total of three driving modes; Eco, Normal, and Sport. On a full charge, Kia claims the EV6 can travel 528 km and has a Type II charging port for AC charging systems.

The EV6 can be recharged from 10% to 100% in 7 hours and 20 minutes via an 11kW AC system. For those who have a DC fast charging system, the EV6 can be juiced up from 10% to 80% via a 50kW system in just 73 minutes. Even faster is a 350kW DC charging station which can quickly recharge the EV6 from 10% to 80% in only 18 minutes.
Size-wise, the EV6 measures 4695mm long, 1890mm wide, and 1550mm tall. It also has a generous 2900mm wheelbase and 160mm of ground clearance.

Inside, the EV6 comes with two curved 12.3-inch monitors, one is the digital instrument cluster while the other is the touchscreen infotainment system. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB, and Bluetooth are standard onboard the EV6, along with a 14-speaker Meridian sound system.

Other available features inside the 2023 EV6 include power-adjustable front seats, leather-suede upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 2-spoke leather steering wheel with paddle shifters, aluminum scuff plates, 60:40 split rear seats, and center armrests for both the front and rear passengers.

The Kia EV6 is initially pegged to sell for around PHP 4 million. But with Executive Order No. 12 now in effect, we won't be surprised that it will be priced less once it's unveiled. With Hyundai Philippines also preparing to reveal the Ioniq 5 very soon, we won't be surprised if the EV6 could be priced similarly.
