Earlier this year, Ford Philippines announced they would be at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) with not one but two vehicles set to be revealed. However, it looks like they had to back out at the last minute because they were not present during the show.

Based on the teaser they released in February 2026, they were getting ready to reveal the V6-powered Ranger and Everest models. In fact, the Blue Oval already received regulatory approval for a passenger vehicle and a light-duty vehicle that's powered by a 2993cc diesel engine, which rounds up to a 3.0L displacement. In addition, the LTO has approved a Ranger Wildtrak-X 3.0L V6 model, the 2.0L Turbo & Limited variants of the pickup truck, as well as an Everest Platinum 4x4, which also gets a V6 diesel under the hood.

Fast forward months later, the LTO has once again approved a new variant of the V6-powered Ranger. Based on a recently released Memorandum Circular, the new variant is called the Ranger Wildtrak 3.0L V6 4x4, and it comes with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Like the regulatory approvals Ford has received, the V6 turbo-diesel engine has a displacement of 2993cc, which is the same engine size as the upcoming 3.0L Powerstroke V6 diesel engine by Ford.

Since the LTO has already approved the Ranger Wildtrak-X, this particular Ranger Wildtrak may slot below the former. We're curious what the major differences will be between the Ranger Wildtrak-X and the standard Ranger Wildtrak V6 models.

Beyond that, the LTO also released homologation documents for the Ford Everest Wildtrak. While it was initially released as a limited-run special for the PH market, it looks like the Everest Wildtrak will now be a permanent offering. However, it looks like it will only get a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine based on the 1996cc engine listed on the document.

With Ford already getting regulatory approval, as well as the go-signal from the LTO, it might not be long before the Blue Oval finally reveals the new V6-powered Ranger & Everest variants, as well as the improved 2.0L EcoBlue diesel versions of the pickup truck and SUV. We're keeping our fingers crossed that they will launch it in Q3 or Q4 of 2026.
