It looks like Ford Philippines is making the final preparations to launch the upgraded T6.2 Ranger pickup trucks in the country.

After receiving regulatory approval to bring a light-duty vehicle powered by a 2993cc (and a 1996cc) diesel engine earlier this year, Ford Philippines has received homologation documents from the Land Transportation Office (LTO). That's right, the 3.0L Powerstroke V6 and the 2.0L EcoBlue turbo-diesel engines for the updated Ford Ranger are inching closer to their Philippine debut.

Based on the LTO documents, the V6-powered version will be called the Wildtrak-X and will be a 4x4 pickup. As mentioned before, it will be powered by the brand's Powerstroke turbo-diesel V6, which displaces 2993cc and generates 250 PS with 600 Nm of torque. It will then be mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and a part-time 4WD system.

Size-wise, it will measure 5370mm long, 1949mm wide, and 1914mm tall on a 3270mm wheelbase. Last but not least, it will have a ground clearance of 242mm and will have 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 265/70 series tires.

Next up are the two new Ranger 2.0L models, which have a displacement of 1996cc and have a single turbo setup. Like the Australian version of the upgraded Ranger, the 2.0L models likely now have a timing chain instead of a wet-belt. The Limited is a 4x4 pickup, while the Turbo version is a 4x2 model. Power output figures are not yet revealed, although both 2.0L Rangers may produce 170 PS and 405 Nm of torque, and will be mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

In terms of size, both the Limited and Turbo Ranger models will measure 5370mm long, 1918mm wide, and 1884mm tall on a 3270mm wheelbase. It will also have 235mm of ground clearance and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/65 tires.

With Ford already securing LTO approvals for the Everest Platinum V6 and the Everest Active 2.0L Turbo models earlier this year, we won't be surprised if Ford Philippines holds a simultaneous launch of the refreshed Everest and the upgraded Ranger later this year.
