In the days leading to Auto China 2026, GWM surprised everyone by posting a teaser video of their upcoming supercar, signifying a major shift in the brand’s direction.

Well, the supercar is still in the development phase, but Auto China 2026 has given us a glimpse of what to expect with the brand’s first-ever supercar, that they call for now as the GF.

The GWM GF is built on a dedicated mid-engined platform, featuring a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 PHEV powertrain. For the show, GWM only revealed the architecture of the supercar, but the brand is also highlighting its interests in racing the supercar.

Based on the renderings posted on the display, the GWM GF has the makings of a GT3 race car. There was a photo that shows the supercar fitted with a fixed wing and a front chin splitter, along with racing slick tires. Interestingly, GWM chose 90 as its racing number which rather gives clues to where the GWM GF was benchmarked – the Ferrari SF90.

Aside from the GWM GF supercar concept, the brand also expressed its interests in entering cross-country rally races with the Tank brand, and featured a Cannon V6 single cab pickup truck dressed up in a rally raid style look.

From tough utility pickup trucks to electrified crossovers, and now going towards high performance in motorsports, it’s an exciting future ahead for GWM.
