Earlier this week, Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) received a regulatory nod from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) for the Primera EV. With it, the fully electric sedan inches closer to its Philippine debut. But what's the update on the Navara Pro (AKA Frontier Pro) plug-in hybrid (PHEV) pickup truck?

Well, after also being previewed at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) and getting recognized by the Department of Energy (DOE), the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has released the homologation papers for the electrified pickup truck.

According to a recent Memorandum Circular, the Navara Pro PHEV will have a maximum EV range of up to 65 km from its lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (Li-NMC) battery pack. While the exact battery capacity wasn't revealed, it might be similar to what the DOE mentioned before, which is 20 kWh.

It also has a single electric motor, which is rated to produce 156 kW or 212 PS. This likely means the torque output of the motor is 350 Nm, which is what other markets get. Meanwhile, it has a 1497cc four-cylinder gasoline engine, which suggests it may get a turbocharged 1.5L engine that makes 142 PS with 220 Nm of torque.

In terms of size, the Navara Pro PHEV measures 5494mm long, 1945mm wide, and 1960mm tall on a 3300mm wheelbase. It's also rated to have a ground clearance of 248mm and an empty weight of 2445 kg. Last but not least, it will have 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 265/65 series tires.

Other details about the PHEV pickup have yet to be revealed. However, in other markets where the Navara Pro PHEV is already available comes with a part-time 4WD system with a four-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display with wireless connectivity, leather upholstery, a wireless charging pad, automatic climate control, and LED ambient lighting.

Since the Navara Pro PHEV has now secured approvals from both the DOE and the LTO, the electrified pickup truck inches closer to its Philippine debut.
