2021 Maxus D60 launches in PH next week
Maxus PH to reveal all-new D60 on February 5
An all-new crossover is set to arrive in the Philippines and is set to go up against the likes of the Geely Azkarra, Chery Tiggo 8, and Honda CR-V.
After a lengthy teaser campaign, Maxus Philippines will be revealing its first compact crossover in the country, the 2021 Maxus D60. It's slated to make its virtual debut on February 5, 2021, and is expected to be priced like a subcompact crossover. Should the D60 come within that price range, it may undercut the competition.

The exact specifications of the D60 are not yet available. But taking a look at the China-spec model has given us an idea of its size and possible equipment list. It measures 4720mm long, 1860mm wide, and 1736mm tall. While its width and height are similar to most other crossovers, its length makes it one of the longest in the segment.

In its class, it's longer than the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester, Chery Tiggo 8, GAC GS4, and Geely Azkarra. With dimensions like that, the D60 could become one of the largest compact crossovers in the market. As far are seats are concerned, the D60 is available with five, six, or seven seats. Should it have three rows of seating, it will directly compete against the likes of the Tiggo 8 and the CR-V.
Under the hood, the D60 comes with either a 1.3-liter or 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. However, the former is only available with a six-speed manual. This puts the 1.5-liter engine as the likeliest engine that will be offered in the Philippines. It makes 169 PS with 250 Nm of torque and is connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

With just 10 days to go before its unveiling, the D60 could be what Maxus needs to kick off sales this 2021.
