Remember when Ferrari surprised the motoring world when they revealed the F80?

Unlike their previous flagship models, which all came with a V12 under the hood, the F80 flipped the script by being powered by an electrified 3.0L twin-turbo V6. With the help of three electric motors and a 2.28 kWh battery pack, the F80 delivers an astonishing 1200 PS.

Only 799 examples of the Ferrari F80 will be made, and knowing Ferrari, almost all of them may have already been spoken for despite having a price tag of USD 3.9 million or PHP 236.41 million.

Well, we can expect the F80 to make its way here very soon after the Department of Energy (DOE) updated its list of recognized hybrid electric vehicles (HEV).

Recently receiving the HEV recognition is none other than the Ferrari F80. It has been listed by the agency to have a maximum electric output of 175 kW or 238 PS and a maximum engine output of 662 kW or 900 PS. And just like the F80 that was revealed in Maranello, the flagship thoroughbred has a 2.28 kWh battery pack.

With those kinds of figures, the F80 can catapult itself from 0 – 100 km/h in 2.15 seconds. Also impressive is the fact that Ferrari claims the F80 can achieve 200 km/h from a standstill in only 5.75 seconds. Keep your right foot planted on the accelerator, and the F80 can reach a top speed of 350 km/h.

Since the Ferrari F80 already secured HEV recognition from the DOE, it might only be a matter of time before we see Maranello's flagship here in the Philippines. The only question now is, will it only be 1 of 799?
