Urus SE Performante: Most powerful Lamborghini SUV yet with 812 HP

Urus SE Performante: Most powerful Lamborghini SUV yet with 812 HP
Lamborghini brings back the Performante name for the most powerful Urus SE
It was exactly four years ago when Lamborghini unleashed its most powerful SUV yet with the Urus Performante. Not only was it 47 kg lighter and benefited from a lowered suspension for better handling, but its 4.0L twin-turbo V8 generated 666 PS with 850 Nm of torque. This translates to a 0 – 100 km/h sprint of 0 – 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 306 km/h.
But alas, Lamborghini axed all the pure ICE models of the Urus, including the mighty Performante. Now, the Urus is only available as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) via the SE model. But that doesn't mean they can't make an even more powerful version of the Urus SE.

Say hello to the Lamborghini Urus SE Performante, the most powerful production SUV from Lamborghini yet. While it still gets an electrified 4.0L twin-turbo V8, the automaker gave it more power and lots of upgrades. While the regular Urus SE already makes an impressive 800 HP and 950 Nm of torque, Lamborghini decided to kick it up a notch.
With the help of a more powerful electric motor housed within the 8-speed automatic gearbox and an uprated 4.0L twin-turbo V8, the Urus SE Performante cranks out an impressive 812 HP and a staggering 1,000 Nm of torque. Compared to the previous Urus Performante, the electrified version generates an additional 146 PS and 150 Nm of torque.

The electric motor gets its power from a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which, on a full charge, gives the Urus SE Performante the ability to travel on EV power for more than 60 km. Meanwhile, the 8-speed automatic has been recalibrated to deliver a sportier drive, thanks to a software update that allows for faster response times.
All of these allow the Lamborghini Urus SE Performante to achieve a 0 – 100 km/h sprint time of 3.3 seconds and reach 200 km/h from a standstill in just 10.8 seconds. Last but not least, the Urus SE Performante has a top speed of 312 km/h.
Despite its ability to cover ground fast, the Urus SE Performante is not immune to the added weight of electrification. However, Lamborghini was still able to bring down the Urus SE Performante's curb weight by 32 kg via meticulous weight reduction. Thanks to the use of carbon fiber for the hood, roof, wheel arches, side skirts, and rear diffuser, the Urus SE Performante weighs in at 2,473 kg. This makes the plug-in hybrid SUV from Lamborghini lighter than the BMW M5 Touring, which is still heavier at 2,508 kg.

Hop inside, and the Urus SE Performante gets a heavier dose of motorsport-inspired design. From the red contrast stitching found throughout the cabin and the exposed carbon fiber elements, the Urus SE Performante feels just like it's ready for takeoff. In fact, Lamborghini calls the interior design “Feel Like A Pilot”, which is a nice nod to the fighter jet-inspired cabin.

Other key features inside the cabin include a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display that features a more intuitive human-machine interface. Meanwhile, the Y-shaped anodized aluminum details deliver a level of detail & sophistication that's expected from Lamborghini. Then there's the new upholstery for the panels, seats, and dashboard, which further highlight the aviation-inspired interior.

Expect the Urus SE Performante to make its way here to the Philippines next year.
