Uniqlo reveals Toyota shirts featuring Corolla, Land Cruiser, Hiace, and 2000GT

Toyota fans who wish to know more about the history of some of the brand's legendary vehicles can now wear them as merch. This comes after Uniqlo collaborated with Toyota in featuring the first-generation models of four vehicles that represent Toyota's diverse car-making history.

The vehicles that are now available as T-shirts include the Land Cruiser, the Corolla, the 2000GT, and the Hiace Delivery Van. The unique T-shirts feature the first-generation vehicles through design sketches that serve as visual ideas for them. But why were these specific cars chosen to be featured on Uniqlo's T-shirts?

Well, according to Toyota, these cars are described as originals for the brand and were engineered for their respective uses and purposes. The Corolla established itself as a national family car and is still one of the best-selling vehicles in the world.

Meanwhile, the Land Cruiser is the original 4x4 SUV and was built with the concept of a car that can go anywhere and will always come back. It's also described as durable, reliable, and able to take on the harshest of terrains.

Next is the Hiace, which represents working vehicles that can serve as a passenger van or as a commercial workhorse. This meant the Hiace could wear different hats and serve a wide array of customers, which the van continues to do up to this day.

Last but certainly not least is the 2000GT, which established itself as the original, domestically-produced luxury sports car. Not only did it highlight Toyota's passion and technical abilities, but it also wowed everyone with its design and technological firsts at the time it was launched, way back in 1967.

It was among the first Japanese production cars to have four-wheel independent suspension, power-assisted disc brakes on all four corners, the first Toyota to have a rack & pinion steering, and even had a limited-slip differential, which was still an unknown feature to most Japanese cars at the time.
