This one-off 911 Carrera was built before Porsche Exclusive existed
Would you pick turquoise for your 911's interior?
If you want to have a Porsche customized straight from the factory and make it truly yours, all you have to do is go to Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, the automaker's personalization program. Back in the 1980s however, there was no such thing as Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Special customization options from the Porsche factory line was also limited not to mention hard to do. But, it is easier to do if you actually work for Porsche themselves, such as the case of this special one-off 1984 911 Carrera 3.2.

From just one look, this car looks like any other G-Series 911 Carrera fitted with a whale tail spoiler. Getting a closer look though, you can see that it has a lot of unique features most prominently the turquoise colored Fuchsfelgen wheels. You'll then see more turquoise highlights on the bumpers, door sills, A-pillars, and on the spoiler. Why turquoise accents? Well, they're a preview to match the car's special interior.

Step inside and the air-cooled 911's leather interior has been completely finished in turquoise. From the steering wheel to the Recaro seats and even to the carpet and roof liner, nothing was spared from being finished in turquoise. It even came with unique turquoise colored velvet carpets. This made it truly stand out from any other 911 on the road at the time; a 'one-off' model as Porsche themselves would say.

The colorful 911 Carrera was the creation of Tilman Brodbeck, who had served as the assistant to Peter W. Schutz, Porsche’s CEO at the time. Because of his creation, however, he was later promoted as the head of Porsche Exclusive, which would later become the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur we know today. He had used the 911 as his company car until he was promoted and then the car was sold off. It was only recently that he was reunited with his truly unique company car as seen in the photos above.
