Last weekend, we reported on Toyota Motor Thailand’s announcement that they will temporarily stop producing cars as widespread flooding happened across several areas in Thailand.

With floodwaters affecting key logistics routes and industrial areas, more manufacturers with regional production bases in Thailand have also announced a temporary halt to their production operations.

Among those are Honda Automobile Thailand Co., Ltd. and AutoAlliance Thailand (AAT) – the joint-venture automotive manufacturing facility located in Rayong, Thailand, co-owned by Ford Motor Company and Mazda Motor Corporation.

The president and CEO of Honda Automobile Thailand, Koji Iwanami, said the company would temporarily suspend vehicle production at its Prachin Buri and Ayutthaya plants from October 2 to 6. AAT also suspended their operations in Rayong prior to this writing, and decided to postpone the resumption of production from October 5 to October 9, 2026.

As a result, we should expect production and delivery of models such as the Ford Ranger and Everest, as well as the Honda CR-V, to experience delays. But once the situation in Thailand improves, Honda said they plan to introduce additional shifts later in the month to make up for the lost production.

AAT is also expected to follow suit, but for now their focus is the health, well-being and safety of their suppliers, employees and visitors in this situation.
