Stuck in traffic? DPWH closes portion of EDSA-Ortigas until July 4
DPWH announces EDSA-Ortigas bus lane closure
If you were caught off guard by last night’s latest lane closure on EDSA, you’re probably not alone. The Department of Public Works and Highways National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) announced on its official social media page at 8:47 PM that a portion of the northbound EDSA-Ortigas bus lane would be closed starting 8:00 PM, meaning the advisory came 47 minutes after the scheduled closure.

According to the DPWH, only a partial closure of the northbound bus lane is being implemented, while the remaining lanes will stay open to traffic. The work involves relocating concrete barriers and laying the first layer of asphalt in preparation for Phase 2 of the EDSA Rehabilitation Project, which will cover the stretch from Orense Street in Makati City to Monumento in Caloocan City.
The lane closure will remain in effect until 6:00 AM on July 4. The DPWH is advising motorists to follow traffic signs and the instructions of personnel on site. Or, if your schedule allows, consider taking an alternative route or postponing your trip altogether to avoid the added congestion.
