First announced in December 2023, Jaguar Land Rover’s (JLR) luxury electric SUV was initially due in 2024, but extended development and testing delayed its arrival. Now, after years of development, it’s finally here.

Range Rover has entered a new era with the introduction of the first-ever Range Rover Electric, bringing zero-emission propulsion to the luxury SUV while retaining the refinement and all-terrain capability associated with the nameplate.

Built at JLR’s Solihull plant in the UK, the Range Rover Electric is powered by two 260-kW permanent-magnet electric motors producing up to 550 PS and 850 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0–60 mph (0–97 km/h) in as little as 4.3 seconds, while its claimed WLTP range reaches up to 372 miles (599 km).

Despite switching to electric power, Range Rover says capability remains a key priority. Its new traction management system can respond in as little as 50 milliseconds, helping maintain grip across different surfaces. The SUV can also wade through up to 900 mm of water and tackle slopes of up to 45 degrees.

Power comes from a 118.5-kWh usable battery with an 800-volt electrical architecture. Using a 350-kW DC fast charger, the battery can go from 10 to 80 percent in around 22 minutes, while a 10-minute charge can add up to 220 km of WLTP range.

Range Rover has also subjected the electric SUV to an extensive development program, accumulating more than 1.5 million kilometers of testing across extreme conditions, from the cold of Sweden to the heat of the Dubai desert. More than 300 patent applications have been filed for the vehicle, including technologies covering battery and thermal management.

Visually, the Range Rover Electric remains unmistakably familiar, with subtle aerodynamic changes including a revised grille, wheels, and underbody designed to improve efficiency. Inside, buyers can opt for a First Edition finished in Belgravia Green, Santorini Black, or Varesine Blue, paired with new Light Cloud Ultrafabrics PU and Kvadrat materials.

The model also highlights JLR’s flexible approach to electrification, sharing its architecture with Range Rover models powered by mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and internal-combustion powertrains. Production takes place at Solihull, where JLR has trained thousands of employees in electrification technologies.

Orders for the Range Rover Electric are now open in the UK, with prices starting at £154,070 or PHP 13,038,036. Buyers can choose between short- and long-wheelbase configurations, with SE, HSE, Autobiography, SV, SV Ultra, and SV Black specifications available.
