Heads up: motorists who regularly drive through Angeles City via MacArthur Highway could expect traffic disruptions in the coming days as authorities prepare to demolish the Sto. Cristo Roundabout is to make way for a new flyover project.

Starting June 26, 2026, temporary traffic management measures will be implemented along MacArthur Highway as demolition works begin on the roundabout. The project forms part of the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) efforts to improve traffic flow along one of the city’s busiest corridors.

According to authorities, the demolition is expected to take about 10 days to complete, and during this period, motorists and commuters are encouraged to plan their trips ahead of time and use the designated alternate routes to avoid delays.

The removal of the roundabout will pave the way for the construction of the Sto. Cristo Flyover. Once completed, the structure is expected to ease congestion along MacArthur Highway and improve connectivity between Angeles City and nearby areas.

Traffic enforcers will be deployed throughout the affected area to help manage vehicle flow and assist motorists navigating the temporary traffic scheme.

If you regularly pass through Angeles City, now may be a good time to start looking for alternate routes. The next 10 days could be challenging, especially during rush hour. Still, if the project delivers as intended, the short-term inconvenience could eventually mean shorter travel times and less time spent sitting in traffic.
