Nissan Sylphy e-Power Hybrid can do 25.6 km/L
Should Nissan PH bring in the new Sylphy e-Power?
It's been two years since Nissan launched the all-new Sylphy (or Sentra, depending on where you are). While the model is still not available in the Philippines, the Sylphy is currently being enjoyed by many elsewhere in the world. For the 2022 model year, the automaker decided to update the compact sedan by giving it a new powertrain – e-Power to be exact.

Yes, the Sylphy/Sentra is now available with Nissan's hybrid e-Power technology. It recently made its debut in China, the same region where the model first debuted in 2019. Like all other e-Power models, it is unlike a conventional hybrid.
Instead of the engine driving the car itself, it serves as a generator that charges the electric motor's batteries, giving the sedan a similar feel to an EV.

Nissan did not disclose the full specs of the Sylphy e-Power yet. Instead, the automaker says it will deliver 300 Nm torque and will have five different drive modes “for outstanding performance and excellent fuel deliver”. Just how efficient is the hybrid sedan? According to Nissan, the Sylphy e-Power can do 25.6 km/L.
Based on the output, the powertrain in Sylphy e-Power could be the same one found in the new Note Aura. For reference, the hatchback uses a 1.2-liter HR12DE gasoline engine to power the electric motor, which generates 135 PS and 300 Nm torque.

On the outside, it looks just like the standard Sylphy sedan. The only difference would be the e-Power badges on the front doors and the trunk. Inside, the cabin appears to be carried over as well, with no visual changes made.

With the new Sylphy e-Power out, it might not be long before other countries offer the sedan with the hybrid powertrain as well. Nissan Philippines could also offer it in the country to replace the aging Sylphy model on sale and go head to head with the Corolla Altis Hybrid.
