LTO extends July driver’s license, vehicle registration validity amid LTMS issues
LTO extends July expiring licenses and registrations until further notice
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has extended the validity of several documents that are set to expire beginning July 1, 2026, as the agency continues to address issues affecting its Land Transportation Management System (LTMS).
The extension was announced through Memorandum Circular No. MVL-2026-5271, which takes effect immediately and will remain in force until further notice.
Covered by the extension are motor vehicle registrations, driver’s licenses, conductor’s licenses, student permits, and medical certificates that expire on or after July 1, 2026.

According to the LTO, no late fees or penalties will be collected for renewals covered by the memorandum while it remains in effect.
The agency said the move was made following a series of issues that affected the LTMS, to ensure uninterrupted public service while giving motorists and other clients enough time to complete their transactions once the system is fully stabilized.
The LTO has yet to announce when normal validity periods and renewal schedules will resume. For now, motorists whose registrations or licenses fall under the covered period may continue using them without incurring additional charges until the agency issues another advisory.
