LOOK: Suzuki's new global EV spotted in prototype form
Prototype version of the Suzuki eVX concept sighted in Europe
Earlier this year, Suzuki unveiled its plans to launch an all-electric crossover in the form of the eVX concept. Revealed at the Auto Expo 2023 in India, the evX concept previews a global EV that Suzuki claims is capable of traveling 550 km on a single charge and will feature 4x4 technology.
With a planned release date of sometime in 2025 for the production version, Suzuki has plenty of time on their hands to develop the concept into reality. Unfortunately for the automaker, some eagle-eyed photographers were able to take pictures of the prototype eVX somewhere in Europe it seems.

Posted by Polish publication Autogaleria (the same folks that were able to spot the all-new BMW 5 Series before its launch), the supposed prototype eVX was at a charging station somewhere in Europe. Despite wearing light camouflage to hide its distinct shape, it's pretty clear the production version borrows heavily from the concept's design.

The prototype EV gets a distinct pair of headlights at the front while the grille is closed-off which highlights its electric nature. On its side, the eVX's unique profile sort of reminds us of the S-Presso, albeit larger and longer for the eVX's application. Last but not least is the full-width taillights which are still covered by camouflage. While it has yet to be fully revealed, it's apparent that its overall look was inspired by the eVX first announced last January.
Besides the exterior, the photographer was also able to take a quick peek inside the eVX's interior. Much like what we saw on the outside, the cabin of the prototype EV is wearing camouflage. However, we did notice that it has a flat-bottom steering wheel with an almost square shape design, a fully-digital instrument cluster, uniquely-designed aircon vents, and what looks like a futuristic-looking center console.

Official powertrain details are not yet available. However, the production version could be available with a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, giving it the claimed 550 km cruising range. The eVX might also be available in RWD or AWD given that the concept comes with 4x4 technology, meaning that a single electric motor or a dual-motor setup is likely in the cards.
With its official debut set for 2025, the production version of the eVX is still a long way from its launch. But with Suzuki already busy testing a prototype, it looks like it's all hands on deck for Suzuki's first mass-production EV.
