Lamborghini begins V12 hybrid era with 1,001 PS Revuelto
V12 + 3 electric motors = 1,001 PS
When Lamborghini said they will reveal their first plug-in hybrid supercar within the year, we did not expect it to come this soon, but here we are.
Say hello to the Lamborghini Revuelto, and boy their new two-seat flagship supercar has plenty of tech for high-performance motoring. Much of the new Lambo's details about its hybrid powertrain has been revealed by Bologna a few weeks ago, when it was still named project LB744. Now that it's here, there's a lot more to talk about.

For starters, the Revuelto has a new monocoque chassis that utilizes a fully carbon fiber front structure. Compared to the Aventador, the chassis is 10 percent lighter yet 25 percent stiffer.
Lamborghini says the Revuelto represents a new design language that their future models are set to adopt. Yes, you might still see a lot of Aventador vibes on the silhouette but the rest of the design echoes those of a stealth fighter jet, especially at the rear.

The twin exhaust pipes placed in the middle of the Y-shaped taillights resemble the afterburners of an F-22 Raptor, and the angular body lines along with hexagonal patterns look like they were designed to deflect radar. But really, all the intakes, channels, and fins were made to function as a downforce generator, or cool down the new V12 hybrid engine. As a result, Lamborghini says the Revuelto generates 66 percent more downforce than the Aventador Ultimae.

Inside, the Y motif is likewise present in the middle of the dashboard. The Revuelto has three digital screens – a 12.3-inch digital cluster for the driver, an 8.4-inch portrait screen for the infotainment, and a narrow 9.1-inch screen for the passenger to relay other vital information. Lamborghini says the three displays can be swiped to share information, which means effectively the passenger can serve as an RIO or co-pilot.
Just to refresh your memories, the Revuelto has the L545, Lamborghini's new 6.5-liter V12 engine with 825 PS and 725 Nm of torque. It is complemented by three electric motors that unleashes a total system output of 1,001 PS. Power is transmitted to all four wheels as always, and the transmission is an 8-speed dual clutch that is now placed in a transverse position.

Performance-wise, the Revuelto can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 2.5 seconds, and 200 km/h in less than 7 seconds. Put the pedal to the floor all the way and you'll reach a top speed of more than 350 km/h. But if you want to roll in stealth, the Revuelto also has an all-electric mode that can be used for at least 10 kilometers. From 1,001 PS, that number goes down to a modest 180 PS. Those are just two of the Revuelto's 13 selectable drive modes.
Then again, since it's a high-performance electrified vehicle, expect that the Revuelto also has some serious hardware for maximum track attack. It has rear-axle steering to improve turn-in and exit stability, plus electric torque vectoring where it can send different power outputs to each wheel. Meanwhile, the brakes are carbon-ceramic, and they are equipped with a form of kinetic energy recovery to charge the batteries. Ten-piston calipers bite down to 16.1-inch discs in front, while the 15.4-inch discs are clamped down by four-piston calipers at the rear.

The Revuelto is a performance hybrid through and through, but it doesn't mean Lamborghini skipped on giving the supercar some advanced safety and driving features. It has active lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic alert, and lane change warning, among others.
Speaking of personalization, the Revuelto can well and truly be your own unique Lamborghini, as they are offering 400 exterior color choices and 70 different trim colors inside.
Lamborghini did not yet reveal what's the retail on a Revuelto, and probably we'll get to know that once they launch the supercar near the end of the year as a 2024 model.
