Revuelto SV sets production car lap record at Hockenheimring
Ahead of its world premiere, Lamborghini’s Revuelto SV has already made the headlines in terms of supercar performance.
The Italian manufacturer reveals the upcoming supercar has set the fastest lap ever recorded by a production car at Germany’s Hockenheimring. Lamborghini factory and test driver Marco Mapelli clocked a 1:41.6 lap aboard the new super sports car from Sant’Agata Bolognese.
Instead of the Nurburgring Nordschleife, Lamborghini chose the Hockenheimring as the proving ground to benchmark the Revuelto SV’s performance. The circuit provides a mix of high-speed sections, heavy braking zones, and technical corners. The German track has hosted Formula 1, DTM, and GT racing, making it a recognized venue for evaluating the dynamic capabilities of high-performance cars.
“The new Revuelto SV represents an extraordinary expression of our vision for a Lamborghini super sports car,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “Every element of the car has been developed with the goal of taking performance to an even higher level, enhancing the driving engagement and emotion that have always defined our brand. The record achieved at the Hockenheimring is the result of this approach and demonstrates how innovation, technology and engineering expertise can be translated into tangible, measurable results.”
“The Revuelto SV has reached a level of performance we had never experienced before at Lamborghini,” commented Marco Mapelli, Lamborghini factory driver and test driver. “The extraordinary harmony between car and driver allows you to exploit its full potential, inspiring precision and confidence even at the limit. It is exactly this combination of performance, control and driver engagement that enabled us to achieve this result.”
The Lamborghini Revuelto SV will make its world premiere on August 14 at The Quail during Monterey Car Week. It will headline Lamborghini’s series of new model presentations, alongside the US debut of the Urus Performante and the global unveiling of the Revuelto Miura 60° Homage, which celebrates the Miura and the 55th anniversary of the Miura SV.
