Kia goes big on EV vans with all-new PV7
Kia expands electric van lineup with PV7
Kia is doubling down on its all-electric van offering with the release of the PV7.
Revealed at the 2026 IAA Transportation in Hannover, Germany, the PV7 is the follow-up to the PV5 and serves as the bigger sibling with its greater size and capacity. And just like the PV5, the PV7 is available in both cargo & passenger van versions and is built on the brand's dedicated E-GMP.S architecture that features a flat floor design to maximize interior space & flexibility.

Starting with its dimensions, the PV7 measures 5350mm long, 1995mm wide, and 1990mm tall on a 3500mm wheelbase. Side-by-side with the PV5, the PV7 is longer by up to 705mm, is wider by 95mm, and is taller by 90mm. The PV7's wheelbase is also longer by 505mm, which means there's more cabin & cargo space inside the EV.
Design-wise, the PV7 is built on Kia's “Tool Box” concept, which puts an emphasis on making the vehicle optimized for specific customer requirements, particularly when it comes to the cargo van version. Combined with its larger size, Kia says it can carry more cargo and move more people with ease.

As mentioned earlier, the PV7 is available in two body styles. First up is the PV7 Cargo, which is designed for logistics delivery and fleet use. It's available in two- and three-seat configurations and prioritizes cargo capacity and accessibility. The standard version has up to 6.1 meters of cargo space, while the high-roof variant provides up to 8 meters of cargo space.

When it comes to payload capacity, the PV7 is rated to haul up to 1,200 kg (1,165 kg for the Long variant) and features a 550mm loading height. In addition, Kia says the PV7 can hold up to three Euro pallets (800x1200mm) and the floor can be customized, depending on the customer's needs.

Last but not least, the PV7 Cargo can be configured to have twin barn doors or a lift-up tailgate, as well as a smart walk-away feature that can automatically close the sliding door via a smart key.
Up next is the PV7 Passenger, which, from its namesake, is designed for ferrying families and groups of people with ease. Depending on the setup, the PV7 Passenger can hold up to 9 people in global models and up to 11 in Korean specifications. However, there's also a 7-seater model that can transform the PV7 Passenger into an all-electric lounge on wheels. In fact, the middle row seats can be rotated to face the back row, resulting in a more lounge-like cabin.

When it comes to amenities, the PV7 comes with features like a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless connectivity (12.9-inch in lesser variants), a power-sliding side door, a digital instrument panel, leather upholstery and power-adjustable seats for the PV7 Passenger variants, physical controls for the touchscreen and HVAC systems, and a glass roof to let more light into the cabin.

The PV7 is offered with a choice of a 71.5 kWh and 96.2 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery packs. This then powers a front electric motor that puts out 200 kW (or 272 PS) and 420 Nm of torque. In the future, Kia plans to introduce an AWD variant, which gets an additional rear electric motor. Range-wise, the automaker claims the Long Roof version can cover up to 460 km of range, based on the WLTP cycle.

The PV7 also supports an 800V architecture, which allows for quick recharging. In fact, the PV7 can be recharged from 20% to 80% in just over 20 minutes when hooked up to a 350 kW charger. It also comes with dual charging ports for easier recharging: a rear-side AC charging port and a front AC/DC charging port. Like most EVs, the PV7 also comes with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function to power up devices or appliances during a blackout.

The PV7 Passenger will be launched in Korea and Europe in the second half of 2027. Meanwhile, other global markets are set to follow suit later next year. With the Kia PV5 set to make its Philippine debut in October, perhaps we can expect PV7 to arrive in the Philippines in late 2027 or in early 2028.
