Jaecoo 6T REEV revealed with up to 800 km of range
Jaecoo gives the EJ6 a range-extended version with 6T REEV
Those who are in the market for a go-anywhere, compact SUV but also want an electric vehicle (EV) can get the Jaecoo EJ6. With a combined output of 275 PS and 385 Nm of torque from a pair of electric motors, intelligent AWD, up to 225mm of ground clearance, and a wading depth of up to 600mm, the EJ6 doesn't just look the part, but can go off-road without the need for an internal combustion engine (ICE). There's also a RWD version for those who don't plan on taking the EJ6 off-road.
But with some buyers preferring their EVs with a range-extender to give them peace of mind in case there are no public chargers when they go off the beaten path, Jaecoo has come up with a new variant of the EJ6.

Making its official debut in Thailand is the Jaecoo 6T REEV, and from its namesake, it's essentially the range-extended EV version of the EJ6. While it looks relatively the same as the EJ6, the 6T REEV gets some changes.
Starting with what's underneath, the 6T REEV has a 1.5L turbocharged engine that makes 156 PS and 220 Nm of torque. But instead of powering the wheels, the engine's sole purpose is to charge the onboard 33.6 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery. This then powers either a single rear electric motor that puts out 252 PS or an additional motor in the front, which produces 177 PS. The result is a combined output of 428 PS and 505 Nm of torque for the AWD version.

On just battery power alone, the RWD version can cover up to 190 km and can do up to 800 km combined with the help of the 1.5L turbo. Meanwhile, the AWD version can travel up to 160 km on battery power and can reach up to 750 km combined.
When it comes to recharging the 6T REEV, it supports 6.6 kW AC charging, as well as 100 kW DC charging, which can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes. It also has a 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load feature to help users power up devices while in the wilderness or during blackouts. It also has a 45-liter fuel capacity, up to 220mm of ground clearance, and can ford through waters as high as 600mm.

With Thailand getting first dibs in Southeast Asia for the Jaecoo 6T REEV, we're curious if Omoda Jaecoo Motor Philippines (OJPH) has any plans to bring this here.
