Hyundai N comes back from the future with RN22e, N Vision 74 EVs
Hyundai N's vision of an electrified future shown by RN22e EV and N Vision 74 hybrid

Hyundai's N performance brand is starting a new chapter in its quest to set new standards for electrified high-performance cars.
The South Korean manufacturer has unveiled the RN22e and the N Vision 74 concepts – a fully-electric sports car and a hydrogen fuel cell hybrid built that will play an important role in giving Hyundai N enthusiasts a sustainable high-performance future.

The RN22e is a glimpse of what we could expect from upcoming EV models of Hyundai N. Based on the Ioniq 6, the RN22e uses the electric-global modular platform (E-GMP) as a rolling lab to hone and perfect Hyundai's advanced technologies they can apply to future N production EV models.
In concept form, the RN22e makes 577 PS, but Hyundai N is optimizing the concept to create a corner-carving sports car. For starters, the RN22e uses 3D printed parts to reduce overall weight while keeping rigidity. On the other hand, four-piston monoblock calipers and track-optimized settings enhance the car's capabilities together with trick solutions like torque vectoring and electronically-controlled limited slip differentials.

Meanwhile, the second concept called the N Vision 74 is a hydrogen fuel cell hybrid that pays homage to the Pony Coupe concept from 1974. The retro-styled concept utilizes two different power sources to maximize range and performance.

For one, it has a combined power output of over 670 PS and 900 Nm. In addition, the 62.4 kWh battery has an 800 V fast-charging capability to go along with a 4.2 kg hydrogen fuel tank that can be replenished in just 5 minutes. According to Hyundai N, the N Vision 74 can reach speeds of up to 250 km/h and has a driving range of over 600 km.
The RN22e and N Vision 74 concepts are a sign of exciting cars to come from Hyundai N. Their first electrified steps start with the Ioniq 5 N which hits the global market in 2023.
