Spy shots reveal Lexus possibly developing a sharper, lighter LBX Morizo RR

Lexus appears to be far from finished with its subcompact performance crossover, as new spy shots show test engineers putting a sharper, more hardcore version of the LBX Morizo RR through its paces.

The spied prototype wears heavy camouflage wrap across key areas including the front end, roof, rear valance, and lower rear bumper. Despite the disguises, several notable design changes stand out. Most strikingly, the test car is fitted with a lightweight carbon fiber roof, borrowing a track-focused engineering trick seen on high-tier Toyota GR Corolla variants.

Beyond the lightweight roof panel, aerodynamic tweaks are clearly visible. The upper rear spoiler has been revised with an additional integrated lip extension, which, along with the aggressive rear bumper panel, appears slated to be made of carbon fiber.

At the back, the prototype also sports functional lower air vents cleanly integrated between the dual exhaust tailpipes, hinting at an enhanced underbody airflow and thermal management.

Underneath the skin, the current LBX Morizo RR already packs a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that also powers the GR Yaris and GR Corolla.

While exact technical details surrounding this new prototype remain under wraps, the visible weight-saving measures and aerodynamic upgrades suggest Lexus is aiming to deliver a vehicle that is lighter, sharper to drive, and potentially backed by an extra bump in power.
