Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 flagship 4x4 PHEV revealed with over 1,120 HP
Geely launches Galaxy Cruiser 700 PHEV with up to 305 km of EV range
After several teasers and picture posts, Geely has officially unveiled its flagship 4x4 PHEV that will take on the likes of the Jetour G700. Say hello to the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700, and it's the brand's take on a 4x4 premium SUV that benefits from a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

So what exactly powers this flagship PHEV? Powering the Galaxy Cruiser 700 is the Thor EM-T AWD PHEV system. It consists of a 1.5L turbo or a 2.0L turbo engine that is then paired with three electric motors that send power to all four wheels via a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). The result is a total system output of 830 kW (or 1,128 PS), which is more than enough to get it out of rough terrain.

Speaking of rough terrain, the flagship 4x4 PHEV comes with pre-set drive modes to cover almost any kind of terrain. It even comes with “Crab Walk” and “Waltz Turn”, which greatly reduces its minimum turning radius to 3.36 meters – allowing the SUV to make tight maneuvers with ease. It also has a rear mechanical differential lock when the going gets tough while going off-road.

When it comes to its battery, the Galaxy Cruiser 700 makes use of a 47.14 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. It offers an electric range of up to 305 km, based on the CLTC cycle, and is rated to have a combined system range of more than 1,200 km. However, Geely has done some tests, and the Galaxy Cruiser 700 PHEV can exceed more than 1,700 km on a full tank of gas and a fully charged battery. It also supports an 800V architecture, which translates to faster DC charging.

Size-wise, the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 PHEV measures 5085mm long, 1999mm wide, and 1895mm tall on a 2900mm wheelbase. It also has up to 233mm of ground clearance, a maximum wading depth of up to 800mm, a departure angle of 31 degrees, and an approach angle of 30 degrees.
When it comes to amenities, the Galaxy Cruiser 700 is loaded with features and creature comforts. For starters, it has a built-in fridge that has a wide temperature range of -6 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius. It also has a dual-opening panoramic sunroof, fully folding seats that can hold an airbed, fully folding driver & passenger seats for extra comfort, soundproof glass, ventilated seats with a massage function, a swing-out tailgate, and more.

With the Galaxy Cruiser 700 PHEV now available in China, perhaps we can expect Geely Motor Philippines Corporation to bring the flagship 4x4 SUV here to the country soon.
